Sketching @ Starbucks

People sitting in cafe's are the best victims...I mean...subjects to draw. They usually don't move too much and they like to stick around for a while sipping on a latte. Did you ever started sketching someone only to see them walk away as soon as you were making progress with your sketch?

There are Shoeshiners all over the big cities in Turkey (Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara...). Some take two seconds and don't actually care so they "paint" over your shoes and charge five to seven euros. But some really do care about their craft.

Oil sketch Practice

This is an oil sketch I did for practice. Many people that are learning how to paint don't practice on a daily basis. We accept the notion of ''you must practice every day'' wen it comes to drawing but it's good to carry that mentality when you are painting. It's simple to pickup a pencil and start to draw, but one must not be afraid of paint. With time you can learn to setup in a way that can be quick to start painting and less daunting.

This was a commission for the Bombers Sports Bar in Downtown Moncton. The owner said he will reframe it and it will hang inside the bar.
