This is an oil sketch I did for practice. Many people that are learning how to paint don't practice on a daily basis. We accept the notion of ''you must practice every day'' wen it comes to drawing but it's good to carry that mentality when you are painting. It's simple to pickup a pencil and start to draw, but one must not be afraid of paint. With time you can learn to setup in a way that can be quick to start painting and less daunting.
I like this, my mentor W. Whitaker once said, "Hard work is more important than talent--I'd rather teach someone who will work hard at painting every day than someone with talent who won't."
